“The Art of Birds-from Terns to Petrels and Puffins” (Karen)

Karen, noted seabird artist, offered a look inside the creative sole of a bird artist who loves the sea and seabirds, and believes that science and art are fraternal. Karen was the winner of the George Miksch Sutton Award for Ornitholgical Art!

“The Removal of Science form Public Decisions: A Discussion about Global Warming & Evolution” (John)

For over three decades John has studied the ecology and life history of Golden-winged and Blue-winger Warblers, examing factors that influence nesting success. Much of his research is concerned with the regulation of species diversity and abundance, man's impact on our natural ecosystem. John's exceptional background in environmental impact on bird habitats and behaviors enriches his perspective on the timely subject of global warming.
