The Ithaca College Office of Public Safety received separate complaints of unauthorized entries into residence hall rooms that occurred over this past weekend.
In the first incident, a student reported that an unknown subject entered his unlocked room in the West Tower at about 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30. The unknown subject was observed sitting or kneeling next to the student’s bed when the student awoke. The subject then left the room. The student described the unknown subject as possibly being a male, wearing a dark hooded zip-up sweatshirt with the hood over the head, and sweatpants.
In another incident, a student reported that on Sunday, October 1, at about 2:00 a.m., two unknown male subjects were observed in the doorway of a residence hall room in Emerson Hall. The door to the room was unlocked. Upon seeing the resident, the subjects fled the area. The subjects were described by the student as follows:
Subject #1 – Black male, 5’6”, thin build with shaved or closely cut hair.
Subject #2 – White male, slightly taller than Subject #1, with thin build.
Anyone with information about either of these incidents is asked to contact the Office of Public Safety at 274-3333. Students are reminded to keep their residence hall room doors locked at all times for their own safety.
