Middle Eastern Jewish Music at IC

Get your groove on with Galeet Dardashti and her all-woman quartet Divahn, winner of the 2005 Jewish Music Awards for best middle eastern blend.

The Jewish studies program invites you to join us at any or all of the following events that are free and open to the public.

Thursday, Oct. 26, 8 p.m.
Nabenhauer Recital Room, James J.Whalen Center for Music
“The Musical Poetry of Worship”, an interactive lecture/workshop with Dardashti singing and teaching Jewish songs from Iraq, Iran, Israel and Morocco.

Friday, Oct. 27, 6 p.m
Muller Chapel
Jewish worship service to welcome the Sabbath, led by Dardashti, featuring singing melodies from Middle Eastern and North African Jewish communities.

Saturday, Oct. 28, 8 p.m.
Muller Chapel
Dardashti and Divahn will perform in concert.
