As you’ve noticed over the past few months, the Ithaca College website has a new look! Many of you have asked how you can have the same look on your own website.
The web development team has been working on several options to make elements of the design available to you.
The first phase of this plan was to create a header template (the header is seen at the top of all pages in the new design and contains the Ithaca logo, search box, directories link, and the site main menu across the top of the page).
This template is now available. If you would like to use it on your own site, please contact your marketing communications manager (https://www.ithaca.edu/marcom/services/mcm/). Once the web team activates the header, it will automatically appear on all pages of your site, and will not effect the way you maintain your pages.
We ask that web page developers in our community do not take other design elements from the site at this time, or make a copy of the header in their own pages. It is very important that the maintenance of that header remain centralized. The web team will be designing some templates that will be much more visually consistent and in the family of the new design. We’ll let you know more about these design templates in the coming months.
If you have any questions about whether your site is a good candidate to use the header template, or if you have any other questions about using the new design, or elements of it, please contact your marketing communications manager.
