A new course in the Park School of Communications is open to all Ithaca College students, from freshmen to seniors. H&S majors, Exploratory students, and Communication majors are especially encouraged to register.
The 3-credit course is called, CRITICAL THINKING AND MASS COMMUNICATION, and it offers methods for thinking rationally about all sorts of claims in the media. Topics will range from psychics and UFOs to public relations and propaganda. The material should be very useful to anyone who relies on the media for information, and to those who plan to work in news, nonfiction, or documentary.
The course number is TVR-25100, and is offered at the following times:
Section 1 MWF 2:00 pm - 2:50 pm
Section 2 MWF 3:00 pm - 3:50 pm
The instructor is Dr. Ben Crane, an Emmy Award-winning documentary producer.
