Do you create learning activities that involve data analysis? Do you teach about issues for which information about Ithaca College students' attitudes and behaviors about health or social issues is relevant? You might be able to use Ithaca College data to create some interesting activities.
The Center for Faculty Excellence has supported some uses of locally-collected data. With the Office for Health Promotion and Substance Abuse Prevention we have assisted faculty members to develop teaching modules using health data. We've also used data about attitudes and experiences of first-year students to promote discussion of issues and integrate data analysis into a course not related to data analysis.
Although we can't teach a novice how to use the data, we can provide ideas or suggestions. Some examples are on the Teaching Resources page of the Center for Faculty Excellence at https://www.ithaca.edu/cfe/teaching_DataInClassroom.htm
