Graduate Enrollment grows to 400 students for the first time this fall. With just over 380 full-time graduate students studying on campus this fall, combined with over 30 ongoing summers-only master's students, the total graduate student population is now at an all-time high, slightly less than double the size from just a few years ago.

The current class of over 410 graduate students is comprised of both master's degree candidates and students in the clinical doctoral program in Physical Therapy. With the addition of the doctoral cohort and rapid enrollment growth in brand new master's programs in Sport Management, Health and Physical Education, and Adolescence Education (Master of Arts in Teaching degree), the graduate division is experiencing a period of unprecedented expansion. In addition to new degree programs, recently added curricular tracks in Exercise and Sports Sciences (Sport Psychology concentration) and in the MBA program (Professional Accountancy concentration) have boosted student enrollment.

The Division continues to pursue appropriate new master's degrees that build upon the special strengths of our undergraduate programs, and that, through regional and national research and market analysis, demonstrate a quantifiable need in the job market, the higher education landscape we particularly inhabit, and in the culture in general.

In addition, several new projects to create and offer innovative and professionally-oriented Certificate Programs are currently underway. Utilizing a mix of on-campus, online, and blended learning modes of delivery, these professional development courses and certficate programs are aimed at the continuing education needs of both new and experienced working professionals in several fields. First offerings in this area potentially include certificates in gerontology and business communications, and clinical residencies in physical therapy.
