A series of scenes from Mozart’s operas will be featured on an upcoming free performance by the Ithaca College School of Music Opera Workshop on Thursday, November 30 at 8:15 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall. Musical director Mark Kaczmarczyk has designed a program entitled “Mozart and Constanze: Love Letters” interspersing readings of Mozart’s letters with scenes from “The Marriage of Figaro,” “Don Giovanni,” “The Abduction from the Seraglio,” and “The Magic Flute.” Brian Lilley and Atakan Sari will be the pianists.

Kaczmarczyk explains: "Mozart was a prolific letter writer, revealing an incredible sense of humor, a humbleness, and gratefullness for his family, wife and children. It's also no coincidence that one of his most heroic female characters in his operas is named after his wife."
