Caroline Cox, director of major gifts, has announced her retirement, following a 22-year career here at the College. Her last day in the office will be January 4, although she will continue to work as a consultant for the Division of Institutional Advancement.
Caroline Cox, director of major gifts, has announced her retirement, following a 22-year career here at the College. Her last day in the office will be January 4, although she will continue to work as a consultant for the Division of Institutional Advancement.
There is simply no way to express the depth of our appreciation for Caroline’s profound contributions to Ithaca College. She has been a driving force behind so many projects, among them
• The Fund for Ithaca campaign and the development of the College’s first computerized gift-recording system.
• The solicitation of funds from the Charles A. Dana Foundation for student internships.
• Fund-raising for the Roy H. Park School of Communications and the elaborate events surrounding the building’s dedication.
• The planning of and move to Alumni Hall from the West Tower.
• The science initiative to raise funds for a new building for biology, chemistry, and physics.
• The Fred L. Emerson Foundation challenge grant, which raised almost $1.5 million for scholarships and internships. This effort surpassed its goal by $350,000, which was used for computer networking in the dorms.
• The Handwerker Gallery.
• The current School of Business building campaign.
We will host a party in Caroline’s honor on Monday, December 18, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Handwerker Gallery. Please join us in thanking Caroline for her many accomplishments as we help usher in this exciting new chapter in her life.
