Distinguished Visiting Writers Series Welcomes Poet Cornelius Eady

The Department of Writing and the School of Humanities and Sciences is pleased to present poet Cornelius Eady as this semester’s Distinguished Visiting Writer.

Cornelius Eady was born in Rochester, New York. He is the author of six books of poetry, including Victims of the Latest Dance Craze (1986), winner of the 1985 Lamont Prize from the Academy of American Poets; The Gathering of My Name (1991), nominated for the 1992 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry; and Brutal Imagination (2001), a finalist for the National Book Award.

Eady will give a lecture entitled “On Rewriting” on Tuesday, February 6 at 7:30 p.m. in Emerson Suite A, Phillips Hall. He will also give a poetry reading on Thursday, February 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Park Hall Auditorium. Both events are free and open to the public.
