The new housing selection process is approaching and we wanted to provide you with a reminder of the important dates you should be aware of for this process.
Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at 7am – Housing Selection System opens in Homer Connect for students to squat their room or apartment. The system will be open for squatting until Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 11:59pm. You can obtain your status regarding whether or not you can squat your room or apartment (and if there are any requirements in order to do so) by logging into Homer Connect and going to the Residential Life link.
Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at 7am – Housing Selection System opens in Homer Connect for students who have completed 5 or more semesters (through fall 2006) or whose group averages 5 or more semesters. The system will be open for students in this group to select housing until Thursday, March 8, 2007 at 11:59pm.
Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 7am – Housing Selection System opens in Homer Connect for students who have completed 3 or more semesters (through fall 2006) or whose group averages 3 or more semesters. The system will be open for students in this group to select housing until Thursday, March 22, 2007 at 11:59pm.
Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at 7am – Housing Selection System opens in Homer Connect for students who have completed 0 or more semesters (through fall 2006) or whose group averages 0 or more semesters. The system will be open for students in this group to select housing until Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 11:59pm.
Please note the following information:
You can obtain your semester standing and set your smoking preference by logging into Homer Connect now. You can also create groups to determine when your group can select housing.
If you have completed 5 or more semesters through Fall 2006 and you have not submitted a Senior Intention Form to the Office of Residential Life, you will not have access to select housing through Homer Connect because we assume you are going off-campus. If this is not accurate, please submit a Senior Intention Form as soon as possible prior to your planning to select housing.
If you have completed less than 5 semesters and have been approved for off-campus, you are assumed to be off-campus and will not have access to select housing through Homer Connect. If you plan to live on-campus instead, please contact our office prior to selecting housing to decline your off-campus status.
Only one member of your group should log in during your selection window to choose housing for your group.
The on-line tutorial is now available through Homer Connect and on the Office of Residential Life website at www.ithaca.edu/reslife.
Beginning Tuesday, February 27, 2007, students will have the ability to search the system for available housing without actually selecting an assignment by using the “View Housing Availability for Fall 2007”. This is a similar capability to what students have during advance registration where you can view the number of seats left in a class while other groups are registering. This will allow you to make informed decisions about what options you want to continue to pursue. This is a dynamic feature and so as spaces are selected they will not show in the system.
Once you select housing, you will not be able to change your housing assignment for the fall 2007 semester until after April 9, 2007.
If you experience any difficulties during the selection process, please use the “Report an Error” link. Be as specific as possible when identifying your problem as it will help us to fix the issue in a most timely manner. You can also use this link to provide us with feedback to help us improve the system for future processes.
