As a reminder, the Office of Student Engagement is recruiting Student Leadership Consultants to work in conjunction with the Center for Student Leadership & Involvement, the Office for New Student Programs and the Office of Multicultural Affairs, to assist with the development, coordination, and implementation of all programs and services offered. Please read on for contact information, the qualifications and the application procedures!
Student Leadership Consultants will serve as ambassadors to the campus community and should represent the vision and values of the Office of Student Engagement. To apply, please pick up an application at 319 Egbert Hall. If you have any further questions, please contact John Rawlins or Kim Conrad at 274-3222. Applications are due Friday, March 9th by 5:00pm to 319 Egbert Hall.
Qualifications:
1. Good academic and disciplinary standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 maintained throughout the spring 2007 semester.
2. Current full time enrollment and returning to IC as an undergraduate student for the fall 2007 semester.
3. Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of team members, students and staff members.
4. Ability to make this experience their primary focus after academic courses. As such, Student Leadership Consultants are not permitted to be Resident Assistants during the 2007-2008 academic year.
Important Dates
Group Interview dates: March 20, 21, 22
Individual Interview dates: March 26, 27, 28
Notification letters can be picked up on Friday, March 30, 2007 after 9:00 a.m.
Hand your completed application packet in the original envelope to the Student Leadership Consultant in the Center for Student Leadership & Involvement in 319 Egbert Hall. You will sign up for both the group and individual interview times when turning in your application. Please be prepared and bring your planner.
A completed application will include:
• A completed Candidate Profile.
• Responses to the questions on the Candidate Profile.
• A current resume.
• Two recommendations in sealed envelopes. One recommendation should be from a faculty member familiar with your abilities. One recommendation must be from an individual with whom you have had a professional relationship.
Evaluators may not be members of the staff of the Center for Student Leadership & Involvement or the Offices for New Student Programs or Multicultural Affairs. If you have not yet had a professional experience, a second academic reference may be substituted. The recommendations do not need to be submitted by the March 9 deadline, but all recommendations must be received by the Center for Student Leadership & Involvement by 5:00 PM on Friday, March 23, 2007.
