The Ithaca College Choir will present a free concert on Saturday, March 24 at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall. The concert is the culmination of an east coast tour that took the choir as far south as Atlanta during spring break.
The program, under the direction of Lawrence Doebler, explores “Aspects of Love.” Love of land is represented by Locklair’s “For Amber Waves,” and “Shenandoah” arranged by James Erb. “Lessons of Love” are explored in “Love’s Phases,” commissioned by the choir from Ithaca College composer Dana Wilson. The central work on the program explores the love of peace as expressed in Randall Thompson’s “The Peaceable Kingdom.” The concert will conclude with a series of spirituals arranged by Moses Hogan.
