UNITY COUNCIL TO START SOON

03/19/07

Contributed by Matthew Gogal

Dear Students and Leaders,

On behalf of the Student Government Association, I would like to extend an invitation to you or your organization to join the upcoming Unity Council.

The Unity Council is the primary venue for student organizations to coordinate their efforts and for all students to discuss issues related to diversity, inclusivity, and the social quality of life on the Ithaca College Campus. While not every organization has its main purpose to
promote diversity, we must all come together regardless to initiate dialogue and communication that only minimally exists on this campus.

The Student Government Association and other groups alike see issues emerging that involve ignorance, massive division and a severe lack of support for each other. I implore you to come be a part of something much larger, something that will change social cohesion and equality for the IC community at large. Come, make an impact, have a discussion, grab support for an activity, improve and vocalize the message of your group.

The first Council will convene on Wednesday, April 4th at 7pm. Please visit our website at www.ithaca.edu/sga to find a detailed account of the amendment passed by SGA in our first attempt to improve student relations. Also, for those organizations that have a mailbox in the Student Activities Center, there is a formal invitation
printed out already for you. All responses, interest and questions should be directed to

Bevin Kennedy (bkenned1@ithaca.edu).

Ithaca College Students, let's begin a whole new chapter on student unity.

In Friendship and Strength,

Bevin Kennedy
Vice President, Campus Affairs, SGA
Executive Secretary, Unity Council
