Alicia Swords, assistant professor of sociology, presented at Cornell University and the State University of New York at Buffalo.
On Friday, March 23, Professor Swords gave a talk entitled, "Popular Political Education among Neo-Zapatista Organizations in Chiapas, Mexico." The presentation was for the SUNY Buffalo Association for International Education, Research, and Activism. The talk was co-sponsored by the Graduate School of Education's Center for Comparative and Global Studies in Education, the Social Foundations program of the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy, and the Graduate Student Association.
On Tuesday, March 27, Professor Swords gave a talk on "Food and Free Trade" for the Latin American Perspectives class at Cornell University.
