Ithaca College welcomed 120 accepted ALANA students and their parents to campus this past weekend. Among this group were 30 candidates for the Martin Luther King Jr. Scholar Program. Student participants hailed from New York to Alaska to Nicaragua.
The program kick-off was on Thursday evening. On Friday our guests attended classes, met with faculty, and attended the "Illuminations 2007" fashion and talent show. On Saturday they were treated to the second annual Gospel Invitational Music Festival concert.
Thank you to Vivia Hill-Silcott, senior assistant director for admission, for her vision and dedication to the success of this program and to the student volunteers on the Inside Look Committee for their tireless work on this exceptional program. Much appreciation is extended to the admission staff, and to the many faculty and administrators who hosted and spent time with this promising group of young scholars.
