The Office of Residential Life needs your help to develop a comprehensive housing plan. This plan will lay out future directions for our facilities and programs for the next 10 years.
In particular the plan will help us answer questions like:
Do we have the appropriate type and amount of housing options? (singles, apts, suitest etc)
Should we house all first year students together?
Should we expand our learning community offerings?
Do we have the type and quality of housing we need for our new students and sophomores?
We have contracted the services of a consultant, Tom Hier, who is going to help us develop the plan. The last time we engaged the services of this consultant we utilized the information he provided and ultimately decided to acquire the Ithaca College Circle Apartments. We also decided to do a substantial renovation to the Garden Apartments. So the information he will provide will be VERY important in informing future decisions.
Here is where we need your help. In order to start the process Tom needs to meet with 50-100 students in focus groups. He will be on campus Monday, April 16th and Tuesday, April 17th to conduct these focus groups. Focus groups will occur at noon, 4 pm, 5pm, 6pm and 7pm each evening. If you are available to participate in any of these groups please contact Colleen Barnes at cbarnes@ithaca.edu or 274-3141 to schedule a time to participate. We will be giving away a $25 gift certificate to one winner in each of the 8 focus group meetings.
