Last year, the class of 2006 raised the largest senior class gift in Ithaca College history, contributing $54,000 (including a $25,000 match from the Fred L. Emerson Foundation). Not to be bested, the class of 2007 has set an even higher goal, hoping to raise a total of $57,000, including $25,000 to name a space in the new athletics and events center, $25,000 in matching funds from the Atlantic Philanthropies, and an additional $7,000 for other uses.

“Our time at Ithaca College has been amazing, and we have a great deal to celebrate,” said Katie Cooper and Heather Luboff, co-chairs of the Senior Class Gift Committee. “A good way to do that is by leaving something of ourselves here. Naming a space in the A&E center will not only help celebrate our class, it will help contribute to the future success of all IC students.”

The $25,000 raised by the class for the athletics and events center will be matched by funds from the Atlantic Philanthropies. With a total $50,000 contribution, the gift will qualify to name one of the following spaces: the press box, the front external entranceway, or the greenroom, where guest artists and lecturers can prepare for their performances.

With an additional $7,000 in gifts made by the senior class for any other purpose, the class will top last year’s fund-raising total, making this year’s senior class gift once again the largest in Ithaca College history.
