Thomas Shevory and Patricia Zimmermann, codirectors of the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF), were the featured opening speakers at the New York State Exhibition Symposium at Colgate University on April 14, 2007.
The symposium was a statewide gathering sponsored by the New York State Council of the Arts to bring together all the university, museum, and media arts programmers in the state outside of New York City.
Shevory, professor of politics, and Zimmermann, professor of cinema, photography, and media arts, discussed the collaborative, multiarts, heterogeneous programming model that FLEFF employs, as well as its engagement with national and international collaborators and consultants. Shevory and Zimmermann also moderated the closing session on the exhibition, about the challenges and opportunities of new media and emerging digital technologies.
FLEFF is housed in the Division of Interdisciplinary and International Studies at Ithaca College.
