Associate professor of psychology Ann Lynn and psychology department chair Barney Beins co-authored a chapter in Best Practices for Teaching Statistics and Research Methods in the Behavioral Sciences.
The chapter, entitled, "Integrating Computer Applications in Statistics and Research Methods," originated as a presentation from the conference, Finding Out: Best Practices for Teaching Statistics and Research Methods in Psychology. This conference is part of an annual series of "best practices" conferences sponsored by the Society for the Teaching of Psychology, a division of the American Psychological Association.
The chapter highlights technological changes in teaching statistics and research methods, how to maximize the effectiveness of technological aspects of teaching, and how to assess technology-based student learning.
