The Office of Alumni Relations is putting a call out to the campus community to ask for volunteers to help with either Commencement (May 20), Alumni Weekend (June 1-3), or both, if you’re willing!
Commencement, May 20:
The 112th Commencement held at Ithaca College is fast approaching and we need your help! Once again, the Office of Alumni Relations will be distributing "grad packs" alongside the diploma distribution areas right after the ceremony.
This is a great opportunity to get "up close and personal" with our newest graduates and their families.
There are a total of nine areas on campus where we will need one or two volunteers to help staff a table and hand out packets between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 20.
To help out, please contact Julie Doherty ’02 at jdoherty@ithaca.edu or 4-1393.
Alumni Weekend, June 1-3:
Staffing Alumni Weekend is a great opportunity to build relationships with alumni and it’s also a lot of fun!
This year, the “main event” at Alumni Weekend, the Picnic and Party on the Quad, will be held on the Academic quad, in the center of campus, on Saturday, June 2. We’re looking for volunteers who can help make this experience fun for the whole family. This year we’re putting a special focus on kids’ activities. The theme is “Pirates” and we need volunteers who can help organize a “peg leg” race, paint faces, and hand out goodies!
We’re also looking for volunteers to help staff events throughout the weekend. Some examples are helping with an on-campus driving tour, or staffing a dinner.
Alumni Weekend 2007 promises to be a lot of fun, so if you are interested in helping, please contact Erica Toyama ’02, Events Coordinator for the Office of Alumni Relations as soon as possible at etoyama@ithaca.edu or 4-3584.
