Beginning Wednesday, May 30 the paving of Elmira Road will begin at the 300 block of Elmira Road between the Spencer Road intersection and the Fairgrounds Memorial Parkway (WalMart/Lowe’s entrance).
The work will include milling off of the existing asphalt pavement, replacement of all sewer access tops and covers in the driving lanes, resetting of some curb sections, rebuilding of storm sewer catch basins, a culvert extension near Commercial Avenue, and complete new pavement.
Due to the traffic volume and the impact on the businesses, this construction work will be performed at night. The work hours are scheduled to begin at 8 PM and be completed by 6 AM, Sundays through Thursdays. No work is scheduled for Friday or Saturday nights.
Traffic lanes will be reduced during the construction period. The traffic flow lanes will also change from day to day depending on the work zone for that particular day. ALL TRAVELERS SHOULD EXPECT A SLOWER PACE TRAVELING ELMIRA RD. DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PERIOD, AND THERE WILL BE SOME DELAYS WHEN TRAVELING DURING THE WORK SHIFT. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT TRAVELERS USE ROUTE 13A TO BYPASS THE WORK ZONE.
SCHEDULED COMPLETION DATE: APPROXIMATELY FOUR (4) WEEKS – MAY 30 THROUGH JUNE 29, 2007.
