U.S. News & World Report "America's Best Colleges" has ranked Ithaca College in the top ten of "Best Master's Universities by Region" for the eleventh year in a row. Furthermore, once again the publication named Ithaca College in the top ten "Great Schools, Great Prices," based on the quality of education at a reasonable cost.
Ithaca is the highest-ranking school in its category in New York State, placing at number seven in the north region for the third straight year. The college was also ranked seventh for providing good value, up two spots from last year.
"I thought the ten-year mark was great, but eleven is better, demonstrating the consistent quality education that Ithaca College offers," said President Peggy R. Williams. "We strive to provide students and their families with good value as well, so I am especially pleased that 'America's Best Colleges' included us in 'Great Schools, Great Prices,' which they describe as based 'on the premise that the most significant values are among the colleges that are above average academically,'" she said.
"The excellence of our programs, faculty and staff, along with the quality of our students, has certainly contributed to receiving recognition from this outside publication," added Williams.
The master's rankings are based on peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving. The "Best Master's Universities" category includes institutions that provide a full range of undergraduate and some master's degree programs but offer few, if any, doctoral programs.
