The "Rule, Britannia!" series of free faculty chamber music at Ithaca College will feature two Monday night recitals of British Music. Both concerts will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music. An additional performance, on September 24, has been canceled.

Monday, September 10
Soprano Linda Larson will present Britten's "On this Island," and violinist Susan Waterbury will perform both "Soiree d’amour" and the violin sonata by Edward Elgar. Pianist Charis Dimaras will collaborate throughout.

Monday, September 17
Dimaras will be joined by sopranos Jennifer Kay and Deborah Lifton, baritone Brad Hougham, and clarinetist Richard Faria. Britten's "Charm of Lullabies," Butterworth's "A Shropshire Lad," Walton's "Three Early Songs," and Ireland's "Sonata-Fantasy" for clarinet and piano are on the program.

The Ithaca College School of Music offers some 300 free concerts each academic year. More information on these performances is available by calling 607-274-3717 or visiting www.ithaca.edu/concerts.
