If you ever have the desire to break out into song -- in the shower, in the car, maybe at your neighbor's infamous karaoke night -- you should embrace it whole-heartedly. This ancient art not only feels good, it can enhance your well-being (it seems that singing can actually boost the body's immune response), reduce your feelings of stress, and even prolong your life!
If this sounds like something that interests you, please consider joining the faculty/staff/administrator choir, IC voICes, and find others who feel likewise!
IC voICes, under the direction of Professor Susan Avery, is a group of your fellow co-workers who meet for the sheer joy of singing. IC voICes is designed so that even those who can't read music can participate. We meet Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., and Thursdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. in Whalen 1207. Come to one or come to both -- it's your choice!
Hope to see you there!
