The School of Humanities and Sciences invites H&S students and faculty to submit proposals to the H&S Educational Grant Initiative, formerly known as the H&S Ithaca Fund Award Program. This program provides funding to support activities and projects that enhance student learning. The fall deadline is Friday, September 28.

Students and faculty in H&S are eligible to apply for these awards to support course-based activities that enhance teaching and learning, student/faculty collaborations in scholarly projects, and individual student projects that will take place later in the fall or during the spring 2008 semester. Award amounts range from $150 up to a maximum of $1,000.

The school has re-named this program -- which has distributed more than $95,000 since 2004 to support projects throughout H&S -- in order to more clearly identify and underscore the distinctive nature of this competitive grant program. We are grateful to our many generous alumni whose donations to the H&S Ithaca Fund make possible not only this competitive grants program, but other important programs in the school.

More information, including guidelines, lists of previous award recipients, and application forms can be found at www.ithaca.edu/hs/resources/fundingopps/edugrants.

Students proposing to attend academic conferences should use the form designated for that purpose. Questions about eligibility, specific projects, or application procedures can be addressed to Stacia Zabusky, assistant dean, School of Humanities and Sciences (274-3102, szabusky@ithaca.edu). Completed proposals should be submitted to the H&S dean's office in 201 Muller.
