The Office of International Programs cordially invites faculty applications for the fall 2008 or spring 2009 semester of the London Sabbatic Program. Applicants should be tenured and eligible for an approved and funded sabbatic from their school or division covering either the fall 2008 or spring 2009 semester.

Selected faculty members are expected to teach one course complementary to the London Center curriculum, interact with London Center instructors and students, and attend London Center faculty meetings.

In exchange for teaching one course (assuming sufficient enrollment) appropriate to the Ithaca College London Center experience, the selected faculty members will receive one roundtrip economy airline ticket to London from the nearest major airport, the use of the College's three-bedroom house in Collier's Wood for one semester, and access to London Center facilities. Family members may accompany the faculty member at the faculty member's expense.

The house in Collier's Wood is a 2- to 3-minute walk from the Collier's Wood tube (subway) station (in zone 3 on the Northern Line), and near major shopping centers and schools. On average, a tube ride from Collier's Wood to the Gloucester Road stop for the IC London Center is 40 minutes. The house is furnished and includes a washing machine, computer, and other amenities. Keep in mind, however, that the third bedroom is very small (the size of a closet) and only large enough for a small crib (the room has a small window). The selected faculty member will need to provide a damage deposit to the College before moving into the house.

Interested faculty eligible for Sabbatic during the fall 2008 or the spring 2009 semester should provide a letter of application, a one-page C.V., evidence of teaching excellence, and an outline of the course proposed for the London Center.

Please submit your application packet to Tanya R. Saunders, Assistant Provost/Dean of Interdisciplinary and International Studies, 307 Job Hall, by December 1, 2007. The selected faculty members (one for each semester) will need a letter indicating school support for an approved sabbatic during fall 2008 or spring 2009. By spring break 2008, we hope to announce the names of the faculty members selected.

Thank you.
