I’m pleased to report that we’ve raised a total of $109 million toward our $115 million goal for the Campaign for Ithaca College: Making a World of Difference. In these final months of the campaign, we’ll be working even harder to bring in the remaining $6 million.
To view a chart detailing our progress toward each of the six campaign priorities, go to the campaign page.
In terms of the academic innovation priority, the following are a few highlights of our progress:
Through a multi-year gift from the Atlantic Philanthropies, we will establish the Center for Faculty Research and Development, which will allow for faculty release time and workload flexibility to accommodate professional development and innovation.
A gift from Jay ’72 and Judi ’73 Linden will create the Linden Center for Creativity and Aging.
A grant from the Park Foundation will fund Project Look Sharp, which will deliver media literacy content for both high school and college students.
A gift in honor of Heinz and Judy Koch, both retired faculty members, will support students working on collaborative research with chemistry faculty during the summer months.
The Bernard Family Fund for Research in Undergraduate Biology will support summer student research in biology. Jack Bernard and his late wife were both IC employees and parents of John Bernard ’89.
A gift from John Babcock, a friend of the College, will fund assessment of students’ writing skills across College curricula.
A grant from the Knight Foundation will allow IC to work with six other institutions in the development of activities related to Journalism in the New Media.
The Littauer Foundation Judaica Book Award will augment the library holdings in Jewish Studies.
A grant from the Sloan Foundation will support the sociology department’s Stephen Sweet in performing research and curricular development related to work and family life.
I’m also pleased to announce that we’ve raised $22,000 toward our $25,000 goal for the Faculty/Staff Endowed Scholarship for Students. Congratulations to all who have contributed to this effort.
