To the Ithaca College Community:

On Monday, October 1, a draft of IC's Middle States Reaccreditation Self-Study report was placed on the web for public viewing:

www.ithaca.edu/middlestates

The draft represents a culmination of two years of work during which over 100 members of the campus community -- students, staff, faculty, and administration -- served as members of the Steering Committee and task forces, or offered other forms of research assistance.

During the month of October, all members of the community will have opportunities to review and comment on the draft, well in advance of the submission of a final report to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education in January. We urge everyone to provide feedback via [mailto:middlestates@ithaca.edu]; this e-mail address is also provided on the website listed above. Please feel free to provide feedback directly to us, or to associate provost David García, if you prefer. Your participation in this review process will ensure that our document is accurate and reflective of the fine work occurring on this campus.

Please submit any comments, corrections, or suggestions by Friday, October 26.

At this time, we would like to acknowledge members of the Steering Committee, listed below, who offered so much of their time in service to the College over these past two years:

Laurie Arliss, professor and chair, speech communication
Liz Begley, clinical assistant professor, speech language pathology and audiology
Diane Birr, associate professor, performance studies (School of Music)

Additionally, we want to offer special thanks to associate provost David García, who has led the process from rough draft to this public submission during the month of September. His leadership was invaluable to our success in submitting this draft.
