The Jewish Studies Program invites applications from students for the Golberstein Travel-Study Grant for the 2007-08 academic year.
The grant is intended to aid Ithaca College students to broaden their understanding of the history and survival of the Jewish people though formal study involving travel. Students are encouraged to travel to communities that have important historic significance to the Jewish people and to places they have never been before. The study or research abroad must be conducted under the auspices of an accredited academic institution.
Those eligible to apply include: minors in Jewish Studies, or rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors who have successfully completed at least two courses of the Jewish Studies program. The student must be planning to return to Ithaca College for at least one more semester after completing the travel/study.
Upon completion of the travel/study, the student is required to make a public presentation to the Ithaca College community about the impact of the travel-study, and to write a letter reporting his or her experiences to the Golberstein family and/or any other contributing funders.
