Throughout the month of October, the LGBT Center website will feature videos highlighting different historical figures. Log on to the LGBT Center website GLBT History Month Featured Videos section to find a new video each day of October.
So far this month, biographies of 15 people have been highlighted, including photographer Annie Leibovitz, blues singer Bessie Smith, military commander Alexander the Great, actor Lily Tomlin and composer Leonard Bernstein.
Here are some figures who will be highlighted in the coming days:
October 20: Cary Grant, actor
October 21: Renee Richards, athlete
October 23: John Maynard Keynes, economist
October 24: Gertrude Stein, writer
October 27: Cole Porter, composer
October 29: Florence Nightingale, health care
October 31: Leonardo da Vinci, artist and inventor
