Desperate times require desperate measures and times are tough in Buffalo, New York. Racy and raucous, The Full Monty shows how far some guys will go for a little respect and dignity and a whole lot of moolah. What makes a man a man when women are the breadwinners and men are up on stage, down to their G-strings, baring it all? This musical is one for the guys!
The Full Monty is based on the 1997 British film of the same name. It was adapted for the American musical theater and opened on Broadway in 2000, where it was nominated for Tony Awards for best musical, best book of a musical, and best original score.
The Full Monty tells the story of six Buffalo steelworkers who, strapped for cash, decide to present a strip act at their local nightclub. A story about friendship and family, the musical is set amid the layoffs and downsizing of postindustrial America. We watch these men work together, forging unlikely alliances that challenge their assumptions and allow them to do what's right" by living up to their responsibilities.
