Misaddressed Mail in My Mailbox -- What Should I Do?

When you receive mail for a previous resident of your room or mail that has been placed in the wrong mail box, it should immediately be placed in the misaddressed mail slot located at each mail room.

Due to the constant changing in room assignments from semester to semester and often during the semester, Mail Services delivers mail as addressed. We expect students to place incorrect mail into the misaddressed slot.

Mail returned in the misaddressed mail slot is looked up at the Mail Center, the correct address is applied and the piece to redirected to the correct mail room.

College Circle and Garden residents have individual mail boxes labeled with their names. Students in these locations should send an email to [mailto:icmailservice@ithaca.edu] when they move with the new box number and letter after approval from the Office of Residential Life.

Don't forget to provide family and friends your new address, especially grandparents!

Please contact the Mail Center at 274-3371 if you have questions.
