In collaboration with the Student Activities Board, Sustainability at Ithaca is presenting a special free screening of The 11th Hour on Thursday, November 29, at 7:00 p.m. in Park Auditorium at Ithaca College. A moderated faculty discussion forum will immediately follow the conclusion of the film.

The 11th Hour examines the human relationship with Earth from its earliest glimmers of innovation, to the challenges humanity faces in the present, to the possibilities of the future. Produced and narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, the documentary describes the last moment when change is possible. It explores how humanity has arrived at this moment: how we live, how we impact the Earth's ecosystems, and what we can do to change our course.

The film features dialogs with experts from all over the world, including former Soviet Prime Minister Mikhail Gorbachev, renowned scientist Stephen Hawking, former head of the CIA R. James Woolsey, and sustainable design experts William McDonough and Bruce Mau, in addition to over 50 leading scientists, thinkers, and leaders who present the facts and discuss the most important issues that face our planet.

This special screening will be followed by a faculty discussion forum, including Alka Bramhandkar from the School of Business, Fredrik Kaufmann from the Department of Philosophy and Religion, and Michael Smith from the Department of History, who will also moderate this faculty discussion.

The Student Activities Board will offer other campus screenings of The 11th Hour on Friday, November 30, according to its regular film presentation schedule and admission fee structure.
