Wireless Updates

01/20/08

Contributed by Beth Rugg

The wireless computing network was recently updated and now supports Leopard, the Mac 10.5 operating system, and Windows Vista 64 bit operating system.

Prior to this update, it was recommended that Macs connect to the wireless network using the Safari browser in Rosetta mode. Safari is still the supported browser but Rosetta mode is no longer recommended.
If you have a Mac and have used wireless before, disable Rosetta mode before you connect with Safari.

To disable Rosetta mode:

  1. From the Finder, go to Applications.
  2. Ctrl-click on the icon for Safari and select Get Info.
  3. In the new window, expand the General section by clicking the triangle beside the name.
  4. Uncheck the box for "Open using Rosetta."
  5. Close the window.
  6. If Safari is running, fully exit out of the program and restart it.
