From Provost Rountree:
Please mark your calendars now for the Middle States reaccreditation team visit that will occur on March 3-5. The team will be led by President Joseph Gilmour of Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
The entire campus owes a heartfelt thank-you to the self-study steering committee, chaired by Professor Marian MacCurdy and associate dean Bill Pelto, and assisted since fall 2006 by associate provost David Garcia. The document, begun more than two years ago, has now been edited to include the suggestions, corrections, and comments that campus members provided after reading the earlier draft version. It was recently submitted to the Middle States Commission, sent to the members of the visiting team, and posted on the IC Middle States website, https://www.ithaca.edu/middlestates. (Please note that the document can only be accessed from computers on campus.) Also accessible on the website (and on Intercom) is the complete list of the team members.
When they arrive on campus, the team will be headquartered in the new business school building, where we will provide a room for their work and confidential discussions. And, for their reading pleasure, a vast array of documents will be supplied, detailing Ithaca College's programs, finances, history, leadership, and much, much more. During the two-and-a-half days of their visit, they will have complete access to the campus. At their request, they may meet with individuals or hold meetings, as they evaluate Ithaca College's fulfillment of the Middle States standards, to which we are held in order to have our accreditation reaffirmed.
In advance, let me thank the entire community of Ithaca College for their participation in this important process. In the next few weeks, please watch Intercom and the Middle States website for continuing updates.
