"I'm a WebCT Newbie: What Features Should I Use First?"

Contributed by Susanne Morgan

Please join John Krout, director of the Gerontology Institute; Marilyn Dispensa, academic technology coordinator for ITS; and Susanne Morgan of the Center for Faculty Excellence on Friday February 29, 9:00-10:00 am in CHS 413. John will use WebCT in the fall and wonders how best to proceed. Do you have tips about ways to use WebCT? Do you share John’s question? Come and join the conversation.

This is the first of a new format for talking about teaching from the Center for Faculty Excellence.

Since we have so much expertise on teaching on our campus, we think these conversations will attract people who have experience and suggestions to share. Since we have so many noontime events, we want to schedule your discussion at a time and location that are convenient to you.

Teaching Talk and Tips is a new format that combines features of teaching workshops and brown bag lunch conversations. Anyone teaching here can propose a question, a day and time, and even a location to [mailto:morgan@ithaca.edu Susanne Morgan]. She will locate some resources on the topic, find a space if necessary, and publicize the event. Any resources produced will become part of the Center for Faculty Excellence website.
