This event has been canceled due to illness.

Trevor Field, founder of PlayPumps International, will speak at Ithaca College on Wednesday, April 16, at 7:00 p.m. in Textor 102. Field's lecture is entitled, "The Right to Clean Water, the Right to Play."

Trevor Field started PlayPumps International in South Africa nearly 20 years ago to improve the lives of millions of children and families throughout Africa by providing them with access to healthy drinking water. Field will discuss the hardships facing the daunting global water crisis and the greater hopes for his PlayPumps mission.

Field and his PlayPump system have been featured on PBS, NBC Nightly News, and NPR/National Geographic radio. PlayPumps International has received the support of hip-hop artist Jay-Z, the Case Foundation, the MCJ Foundation, and First Lady Laura Bush and former president Bill Clinton, who arranged for $16.4 million in grants from the United States government.

This event is cosponsored by the Tri-Fund, SGA, SAB, RHA, and the environmental studies program.
