Three members of the politics faculty presented at the 49th annual meeting of the International Studies Association, held in San Francisco March 26-29, 2008.
Associate professor Naeem Inayatullah, presented two papers: "Fundamentals of Liberalism: Invisible, Invasive, Artful, and Bloody Hands" and "Savage Times: The 'Past' as Critical Present." He also served as President and program chair for
the Global Development Studies section.
Associate professor Don Beachler presented a paper, "Genocide Provocation: The Case of the Ottoman Armenians," and also served as chair and discussant for the panel, "Turkey and the Global Political Economy."
Associate professor Chip Gagnon served as a
discussant for the panel, "Development and Security."
