Join the Ithaca College MS Walk team, "IC a Cure for MS" on May 4, 2008 at Ithaca High School. Registration begins at 9:00 am. The Walk steps off at 10. This is a great way to get your blood flowing and your energy moving during finals weekend. Premium Blend will be performing as part of the entertainment during registration.

MS usually strikes adults in the prime of life -- between the ages of 20 and 50. It is a chronic disease of the central nervous system affecting the brain and spinal cord. One new case of MS is diagnosed every hour. It comes and goes unpredictably, leaving people to wonder, "Will I become paralyzed or blind? Will I have trouble walking? Will I be able to raise my family and continue my career?"

I have a special connection to MS -- my husband was diagnosed when he was 32 and has been living with the uncertainties of MS every since.

If you would like to walk or to donate funds to the team, please contact Doreen Hettich-Atkins, [mailto:dhettichatkins@ithaca.edu], or 607-274-3374. All walkers who raise a minimum of $125.00 will earn a walk T-shirt.

If you can't commit to raising funds and walking or don't have money to contribute, volunteers are also needed for a variety of tasks between 8:00 am and 12:00 noon. Contact Doreen if you would like to volunteer. All volunteers receive a t-shirt commemorating their service to the walk.
