The annual campus-wide Perialas Prize in Persuasive Speaking will select three winners this year: the best speech for presidential candidates Obama, McCain, and an alternative-party candidate.
A panel of professors will select the best speaker for each candidate to present an 8- to 10-minute speech to the public on October 28 in the Clark Lounge. The winners also receive an award for oratorical excellence and $200.
All students up for the challenge should contact Jodi Cohen at [mailto:cohenj@ithaca.edu] or 274-3025 for details. The preliminary contest will take place the week before fall break.
This is the 11th Annual Perialas Prize in Persuasion, sponsored by the Perialas Fund and the Department of Speech Communication.
