Kiersten Timpe '10, an integrated marketing communications (IMC) major at Ithaca College, was awarded the Lee Epstein Scholarship by the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation. The faculty sponsor was professor Scott Hamula, who is also director of the IMC program in the Roy H. Park School of Communications.

Kiersten said, "I was really surprised when I found out I received the scholarship. It was a huge honor to be recognized. I'm attending Ithaca's L.A. program in the spring, so I'm excited to explore interactive marketing with an internship."

The Lee Epstein Fund Scholarship Fund was established in honor of Lee Epstein, founder of the nonprofit Direct Marketers Gateway, Inc., and a lifelong supporter of direct marketing educational programs. Six $1,000 scholarships are provided to full-time undergraduate students in the tri-state area.

Headquartered in New York City, the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF) works to attract, educate, and place top college students by continuously improving the teaching of world-class direct/interactive marketing and, thereby, expanding and enriching the talent pool of trained, market-ready direct marketers.
