Nominations for Honorary Degrees

In accordance with college policy 1.7.1.6, the Office of the Provost invites you to consider making nominations for honorary degrees to be awarded at spring commencement.

Nominations must be received in writing, and should include the following information:
• nominee’s name and address
• curriculum vitae
• list of suggested references
• an explanation of how the nominee meets the criteria for honorary degrees

The three criteria are
1. a record of outstanding personal or public achievement, community service, philanthropic endeavor, and interest in educational and/or humanitarian programs;
2. outstanding scholarly contributions and/or demonstration of other significant service of benefit to humanity or to Ithaca College; and
3. outstanding contributions in the private sector of our society in ways that harmonize with the heritage, character, and mission of the college.
