Linda Gasser, a new faculty member in the School of Business, gave a paper at the fourth International Art of Management and Organizations Conference at the Banff Centre in Banff, Canada, September 10, 2008.
The paper, entitled "Images of Developing Careers: Creating Visions of Individual Futures," was part of the conference stream, "The Phenomenology of Report Making: The Experience of Reporting." Prior to the conference, on September 9 she attended the Banff Center's First Biennial Organizational Theater Exploratorium which featured performances, demonstrations, and panel discussions highlighting the cutting-edge work of international leadership development facilitators and artists who work at the intersection of theater, performance, and organizational development.
The International Art of Management and Organizations Conference is a biennial conference that brings scholars, educators, and artistic practitioners together to explore, discuss, enrich, and inspire the use of the creative arts (in the most inclusive sense) as a means of understanding management leadership, and organizational life.
The Banff Center itself, in the Canadian Rockies, is currently celebrating its 75th anniversary of
"inspiring creativity," and serves as a catalyst for creativity, a place of intersectional innovation with a transformative impact, and a beacon for attracting creators and thinkers from around the world to its powerful, inspiring campus.
