The next topic for Sustainability Café will be, "One Thing Leads to Another: Environment, Nonprofits and Philanthropy." This Café, being held in conjunction with the Environmental Seminar, will be held on Monday, September 29, at 4:00 p.m. in the Taughannock Falls Room in the Campus Center.
Jon M. Jensen, executive director of the Park Foundation, will speak from his more than 25 years of grant-making experience on how philanthropic organizations can effect social and environmental change. In his career, Jensen has developed multimillion-dollar foundation program initiatives in sustainable development, education, green buildings, biodiversity conservation, smart growth, and urban redevelopment.
Jensen, who has a B.S. in psychobiology from Albright College and an M.S. in animal behavior from Bucknell University, has had an extensive career in philanthropy. He had founding roles in the Funders Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities and the Environmental Grantmakers Association. Jensen previously worked for the George Gund Foundation, the Pew Charitable Trusts, and the Wildlife Preservation Trust International.
The Park Foundation, based in Ithaca, New York, was established by the late Roy Hampton Park, Sr. -- founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Park Communications, Inc.
