Mark your calendar and plan to attend one of several public meetings to learn how Ithaca College plans to address our goal of carbon neutrality. These meetings are open to anyone interested in climate change, climate action, or carbon management.
In spring 2007, former President Peggy R. Williams signed the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC), joining over 570 presidents from higher education institutions to pledge to become "carbon neutral."
President Williams convened a Climate Commitment Committee, chaired by Carl Sgrecci, vice president for finance and administration, with broad representation from the campus community. The Climate Commitment Committee has been working for the past year to meet the goals and objectives of the ACUPCC, including filing a two-month report in fall 2007 and completing a comprehensive greenhouse gas emissions inventory (see links below).
You are invited to attend an open meeting to receive an update from members of the committee on the following:
These open meeting times will be offered; please attend the session that best meets your schedule.
