The Office of Multicultural Affairs proudly presents MTV News correspondent Suchin Pak to kick off the "In My Own Words" speaker series, this Monday, September 29, at 7:00 p.m. in Emerson Suite B. Please join us for this exciting event!

SuChin Pak joined the MTV News team as a correspondent in May 2001. Over the years, she's interviewed everyone from P. Diddy, Jane's Addiction, and Mary J. Blige to Justin Timberlake, Billy Idol, Britney Spears, and Gwen Stefani. She's cohosted the Video Music Awards, the Movie Awards, and Grammy pre-shows. SuChin has been on the red carpet for the Oscars, Golden Globes, and the Sundance Film Festival.

Most recently, she's reported for MTV's "Choose or Lose" campaign, traveling the country to cover the presidential election and youth voting issues. Some stories from the field for Choose or Lose include: live reports from Bush headquarters in Washington, D.C., on election night; youth voting patterns in swing states; protests on affirmative action, reproductive rights, and the environment; and live coverage from the Republican and Democratic conventions. SuChin also traveled to Thailand for the MTV News special, "After the Tsunami," and cohosted a special edition of Total Request Live dedicated to raising donations for victims of the tragedy.

SuChin's biggest projects this past year have been hosting and producing the MTV documentary series, My Life Translated, which deals with the lives of young people growing up in America with parents from different countries and cultures, as well as G Word, an hour-long show on Planet Green.

In this new daily series, hosted by SuChin Pak and CBS News science and technology correspondent Daniel Sieberg, viewers hear from eco-minded experts who head to the front lines of the new environmental movement to bring viewers ideas and solutions that everyone can use. G Word covers a broad range of subjects, including home, design, gadgets, food, shopping, the latest science and technological innovations, fashion, and much more. SuChin, Daniel and the G Word crew guide viewers through the ins and outs of green as they explore what we need to know about preserving the environment and enjoying life at the same time.
