Screening: Find Your Inner Seoul

The Park School of Communications and the Department of Cinema, Photography, and Media Arts present a collection of films Friday, October 10, at 6:00 p.m. in the Park Auditorium.

The films were created as part of a 2008 summer course, "Crosscultural Documentary Research and Production," at Hanyang University in Seoul, South Korea. The course, taught by assistant professor Changhee Chun, included not only Ithaca College students, but also students from Hanyang University.

"Grammatically Correct" examines the role English education plays in the lives of South Koreans. Spending upwards of 15 billion dollars per year on private English education, South Korea is labeled as the largest (per capita) consumer of the Test Of English for International Communication (TOEIC). The social and political importance of English education has been made apparent by the South Korean government. But is it necessary for everyone?
