The Veterans Committee wants your participation in a unique and special way......
The sixth annual Veterans Day celebration will be held on Tuesday, November 11, at noon in Ford Hall, Whalen Center.
The guest speaker will be David West, director of the Bath (New York) Medical Center. Opening remarks will be given by president Tom Rochon. Music will be provided by the IC VoICes and the IC Brass Choir, and the colors will be presented by IC-CU ROTC.
We invite you to be part of this year's celebration by helping us in a very special way. We want to present Mr. West with a book filled with notes, tributes, cards, or letters to take back to the veterans at the VA hospital. It doesn't have to be anything special -- a simple "Thank you for your service" will be most appreciated.
You can e-mail a note to [mailto:veteranscommittee@ithaca.edu] or send a hard-copy note or card to: Pat Phelps, Music Office, Whalen Center. All notes must be received by November 3.
Also, non-IC community members are welcome to send notes as well -- perhaps you can share this with your children as a school classroom project.
The IC Quilters are making a quilt to be taken back to the hospital and given to a patient as well as a wall hanging for the hospital.
