Internships Now Open for 2009 Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF)

An informational meeting for students interested in applying for competitively selected internships with the 2009 Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF) will be held on Thursday, October 23, from 12:10 to 1:05 p.m. in Textor 102.

FLEFF interns learn valuable professional skills and knowledge of the entertainment/arts/policy worlds through deep immersion and hands on-experience in film festival operations and event management, traditional and viral marketing, hospitality, and blogging. Selected interns are required to enroll in a one-credit pass/fall practicum facilitating intellectual immersion in the festival concepts, festival history, and internship professional training offered through the Division of Interdisciplinary and International Studies.

The 2009 Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival runs March 30-April 5, 2009. Practica begin in January to prepare for the festival.

This year’s programming streams are Spice, Syncopation, Toxins and Trade. Confirmed guests for FLEFF 2009 include filmmaker John Valadez (The Last Conquistadar, La Onda Chicana); Jay Walljasper, journalist for National Geographic Online and former editor of the Utne Reader; percussionist Dane Richeson; producers Phil Wilde and Ann Michel; Kino International theatrical film acquisitions liaison Rodrigo Brandao; and musicians Susan Waterbury, Rick Faria, Gordon Stout, Robby Aceto, Fe Nunn, Jennifer Hayge, Elizabeth Simkin, John Stetch, Nick Walker, Chris White and Peter Dodge.
